Position Description:
The Foster Care and Adoptions Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of placement services and for assessing the appropriateness of each placement ongoingly. This position will also be responsible for the completion of home studies for prospective foster/adoptive homes, as well as providing case-management services to families/children that come into the program as needed. This position will report to the Program Executive for the Crossroads Foster Care and Adoption Program. General Responsibilities Participate in the hiring and training of new Human Services Professionals Assign new foster and adoptive parents and child cases to Human Services Professionals based off of caseload and geographic location Provide constant support and weekly supervision to HSPs Incorporate trauma-focused approaches to case management staff to maintain a trauma focus Assist with barriers to permanency- provide advocacy and support to help achieve safety, permanency and well-being for children Accompany HSPs on visits to observe and provide feedback and support as needed Attend meetings/appointments for HSPs should a scheduling conflict occur with the HSP Review and approve monthly summaries, service plans, and other case management reports Review and sign off on initial home studies and re-evaluations Screen referrals and supervise intake and placement of foster and adoptive children Complete performance evaluations at required intervals for HSPs Implement knowledge of licensing rules, accreditation standards, and DFCS contract obligations Assist with referrals and resources for mental health services, developmental services, and other providers as needed Develop relationships with community partners and service providers Coordinate quarterly foster parent training events Carry a small caseload or complete home studies as needed, and specifically during staff transitions or during times of high caseloads Ensure the maintenance of child/family case record to include materials consistent with agency, licensing, accreditation, and contract requirements, Audit on a quarterly basis Meet deadlines for required reporting Work with Crossroads team to recruit foster/adoptive families via community outreach Continue to assess the appropriateness for each placement. Remain on call 24/7 to respond to emergency situations All other duties as assigned by supervisor Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in foster/adoptive field preferred Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Certified in
IMPACT FCP
Training preferred, or willing to secure in an agreed upon timeframe Completed RBWO Foundations Training preferred, or willing to secure in an agreed upon timeframe CPR/First Aid certification preferred, or willing to secure in an agreed upon timeframe Problem solving ability and time management skills Proficiency in technology (MS Office and Extended Reach) Possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License Acceptable criminal records checks, child abuse records, motor vehicle report and drug screening Effect on end results 1.
