Legal Advocate Position Available In Spalding, Georgia

Legal Advocate Promise Place Griffin, GA 30224 Promise Place is a non-profit that has been serving victims of domestic violence for over 30 years. We are seeking an outgoing and empathetic professional to add to our full-time staff. This position is a full-time, weekday position at 40 hours per week. Bilingual Preferred (Spanish-speaking) is preferred.

Typical hours:

Flexible hours, Day Shift, No Weekends This position is responsible for providing crisis intervention and legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence. Responsibilities include assessing clients for eligibility for temporary protective orders; providing intakes and assessments for new clients; assisting eligible clients with TPO paperwork and process including court accompaniment; maintaining Promise Place’s relationship with judiciary and law enforcement agencies; interfacing with community resources/agencies to utilize existing services; maintaining adequate records and documentation in computer database.

Candidates Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or Equivalent work experience. Experience and/or familiarity with domestic violence. Knowledge of trauma informed principles is preferred. Experience in crisis intervention, case management principles, and group facilitation preferred. In addition, experience in community collaboration, networking, and referrals would be desired. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated ability to handle a crisis as well as patience and tolerance for all clients regardless of race, age, religion, sexual preference or financial status.
