Skill Up Case Manager New Madrid County Family Resource Center 420 Virginia Ave, New Madrid, MO 63869 Company Overview The New Madrid County Family Resource Center is dedicated to providing essential support and resources to children, families, and communities. Through various programs focused on youth development, parenting support, employment assistance, and community engagement, we strive to empower individuals to overcome life’s challenges. Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Case Manager to join our team at the New Madrid County Family Resource Center. In this role, you will work with participants who receive SNAP benefits to secure employment. The Case Manager will have the primary responsibilities for ensuing that adults are provided with ready access to an array of employment services. The main work of the position will be to ensure that there is an opportunity for employment for all participants in need of services. The Case Manager will also connect the participants to any and all local resources that would help with job placement, retention and supportive services. Responsibilities Assess participants, for work readiness skills, strengths, aptitudes and any potential limitations/barriers to employment and post-secondary education. Enrolls participants in the program, develops employment and vocational plans with goals and timelines that will help place the participants in an employment situation, within a desired time frame.

  • Assist participants to become work-ready by identifying barriers and offering resources/solutions.
  • Assist with the creation of professional job search tools including resumes, cover letters, etc.
  • Complete an assessment and service strategy.
  • Work with a Case Load of 30 participants, with goal of employment.
  • Build a network of resources, such as, educational skill based entities, employment opportunities along with job training development.
  • Serve as a facilitator and a mentor to ensure that the participants do not go through any “wrong doors” and that they have access to educational training, employment, and career development services. Requirements
Communication Skills:

Case managers need to talk with clients and understand their needs. You will also need to speak with others on your client’s behalf, and act as an advocate for them. Good listening skills, and speaking in an understandable way and being a good communicator is crucial.

  • Case managers will be working with people who are sometimes in dire situations or going through difficult transitions.
Time-Management and Organizational Skills:

Case managers have multiple clients with various needs and are in various stages of need. There is a lot of paperwork that will need to be filled out and you will be working with state, as well as others workers. You will need to be organized and efficient with your time.

    Problem-Solving Skills:

    Clients are looking for someone to help them find solutions to their problems. You will need to think critically and clearly about their situations to find solutions.

    • Familiar with computer technology and software such as Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Social Work Background with at least 3 years of experience or a AA in the above fields with at least 5 years of working experience.
    • Exceptional at time management, able to multi task, and meet deadlines.
    • Experience with Case Management for adults.
    • Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong communication Skills both written and verbal.
    • Experience assisting people finding employment.
    • Able to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and other programs to produce reports, conducts tracking and store data on all participants. There will be a performance test which all applicants will take to determine competency levels.
    • Other duties as assigned.
