About this Opportunity Brunswick County is currently accepting applications for a Case Manager to join our Emergency Medical Services team and support our Community Paramedic and Access and Functional Needs programs. At Brunswick County we’re committed to providing highly responsive, effective, and efficient emergency medical and planning services for citizens and visitors across Brunswick County and surrounding areas. The Case Manager plays a vital role in ensuring we’re able to positively impact the health, safety, and welfare of County residents during times of crisis, natural disasters, and other emergencies. The Case Manager will provide case management support to individuals participating in the Community Paramedic program. The focus of this work will be to connect clients with resources and services to assist them to remain in their homes and address physical and mental health needs, including substance use. The Case Manager will also be responsible for coordinating the County’s Access and Functional Needs Program. Work involves planning, developing, implementing, and managing countywide program activities before, during, and after disasters to integrate a whole community inclusion approach. This position reports directly to the Director of Emergency Medical Services. This is considered a safety sensitive position. Employees hired to work in safety sensitive positions will be subject to random drug screens and periodic driver license checks. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; OR Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution AND one (1) year of directly related experience; OR Associate degree in emergency management, emergency medical services, or closely related field; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Valid NC or SC Driver License required. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite to include Word and Excel. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
