LOCAL RE-ENTRY COUNCIL CASE MANAGER

Rowan County is currently seeking applicants for the position of Local Re-Entry Council Case Manager (Grant funded) to provide comprehensive case management services to justice involved individuals in the LRC program. The role involves coordinating services for justice-involved veterans, assisting them with accessing community resources, and supporting their rehabilitation efforts; including but not limited to: conducting initial intake assessments to determine the needs of participants and develop case management plans; coordinating with treatment providers, including mental health and substance abuse counselors, to ensure comprehensive care; monitoring participant compliance with program requirements; providing supportive counseling to justice involved individuals to help them address issues such as substance abuse, mental health concerns, and life skills development; and making referrals to housing, employment, educational, and healthcare resources as needed. Funding for this position is guaranteed through 3/1/26. Requires considerable knowledge of case management principles, techniques, and practices; familiarity with post release specific challenges, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, and post-release transition; knowledge of community resources, including mental health, substance abuse treatment, and housing programs; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with court personnel, service providers, and the community; strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document case progress and present information to the court, and ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of experience in case management, preferably in a criminal justice, behavioral health, or veterans’ services setting preferred. Experience working with military populations or justice-involved individuals is strongly preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. All degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. Starting Salary $31.900 – $32,500/annual (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
