Description The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking an energetic,creative, and qualified Substance Use Disorders Case Manager forWomen’s Services. The successful candidates must be capable offunctioning relatively independently, and will manage a caseloadand provide intensive community-based outpatient clinicalassessment, outpatient services and case management services,crisis intervention services and supportive counseling. Specificresponsibilities include conducting screenings and initialassessments, developing diagnostic impressions upon admission forservices, delivering evidence-based skill-building and motivationalenhancement groups, and providing or arranging for additional oralternative services where appropriate. Essential Functions Assesses client service needs, capabilities and appropriateness forservices; presents options and services based upon a needsassessment. Develops an individual service plan of care and servicesappropriate to the evaluation with the client/family consensus;reviews and updates service plans. Makes referrals and linkages to appropriate agencies for services;coordinates client services and treatment with multiple serviceproviders and agencies. Evaluates the quality of services provided and changes in clientscondition and counsels clients as necessary; evaluates clientsenvironment for safety, security, negative factors andproductivity; compiles and analyzes data relating to complaints;identifies and works to resolve problems. Plans and facilitates group sessions with clients participating incommunity activities and/or to promote recovery and educateclients. Provides motivational counseling to clients to facilitate/improveengagement in services that support recovery. Assists clients with activities of daily living includinghygiene/bathing. Assists with the orientation and training of newly hired staff;. Orients and trains newly hired staff; evaluates staff performanceas directed. Serves as liaison to public agencies and provides informationregarding Authority programs and services. Attends inter-disciplinary team meetings to discuss decisions forclient plan of care; provides or arranges transportation; assistswith discharge planning. Provides crisis intervention and prevention services. Prepares a variety of reports; prepares and maintains client chartsand other records. Attends meetings, staffings and conferences as they relate toclient, staff and program needs. Assists in curriculum development and resource tools. Position Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree with coursework in social work, psychology,counseling, sociology, health services or related field andmoderate experience working with individuals with behavioral healthdisorders and/or intellectual disabilities in a behavioral healthsetting, or equivalent combination of education andexperience. Registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling as QMHP A(Adult) preferred. Registration as a QMHP-T (Trainee) required. A Qualified MentalHealth Professional – Trainee (QMHP-T), is defined as a personreceiving supervised training in order to qualify as a

inaccordance with 18VAC115-80 and who has met the minimumrequirements and is registered with the Virginia Board ofCounseling. Masters degree preferred. CSAC preferred. One year of experience working with individuals with seriousmental illness, intellectual disabilities, or substance usedisorders in a behavioral health setting. Applicant must have valid Virginia driver’s license. Qualifying case management staff will be eleigible for$3,000.00 sign-on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions ofthe approved sign-on bonus policy.
