Job Duties:
The Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant provides daily assistance and support to include transportation, family search and engagement and concerted efforts to CWS Case Managers in the Upstate Region in the areas of Foster Care and Adoption.
Collaborates with county and regional adoption staff to transport children to and from visitation, placement, court hearings and medical appointments and documents work activity.
Works collaboratively with child welfare staff in performing administrative tasks in accordance with DSS Policy, Agency Mission and GPS Practice Model to support families and other professional/agency partners. Tasks can include concerted efforts and family search and engagement.
Authentically engages families and other professionals with empathy and respect.
Completes all necessary training for regional support task.
Maintains an active routine of self-care and pursues support when necessary to minimize the threat of secondary trauma to physical and mental health.
To ensure that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
Performs Red Cross Shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/ services as directed.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements
A High School Diploma and three (3) years of work experience in clerical, administration, social work, correctional, business administration or general business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by the Division of State and Human Resources. An Associate Degree and one (1) year of experience in clerical, administration, social work, correctional, business administration or general business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
