The role is responsible for ongoing quality assurance of scanned charts, tracking their final locations, assisting in the collection and analysis of statistical data, and serving as a backup for cold case victim advocates. These advocates play a crucial role in victim notifications, photo line-ups, statements, and crime scene reconstructions associated with the reopening of a victim’s case. Additionally, the position is responsible for coordinating meetings between the Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center (CVRCC), Memphis Police Department (MPD), Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), University of Memphis, and the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office. It also provides assistance to MPD and the University of Memphis in gathering statistical data. Pay Grade 45 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 1. One (1) year of experience in crisis intervention or counseling/case management/advocacy of which one (1) year must have been working with people impacted by trauma; AND 2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, healthcare, medical coding or related field; OR 3. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. 4.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Oversees the digitization of medical records, ensuring their proper scanning, organization, and storage. 2. Develops and maintains a comprehensive database to track the final location of digitized records. 3. Coordinates meetings between CVRCC and its partner agencies to ensure seamless collaboration and service delivery. 4. Analyzes project data and maintains accurate records to track progress. 5. Provides backup support to victim advocates offering crisis intervention and advocacy services. 6. Attends weekly virtual multidisciplinary meetings with various partner agencies. 7. Offers advocacy and support services to victims of sexual violence, including accompanying them to investigative and judicial proceedings. 8. Performs crisis intervention and provide information on resources, rights, and options available to victims and their families. 9. Assesses safety and explain the criminal justice process to victims, as necessary. 10. Collaborates with a variety of partner agencies, including law enforcement, courts, county/community organizations, and faith-based groups. 11. Assists victims or their families in applying for crime victims’ compensation. 12. Maintains confidentiality of case data and notes, assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting. 13. Contributes to the development and delivery of training for staff and partner agencies. 14. Performs other related duties as assigned. KSAs 1. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. 2. Proficient knowledge in creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track project progress and quality assurance. 3. Skilled in scheduling meetings and coordinating events with various agencies. 4. Strong ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies and conduct data analysis. 5. Working knowledge of trauma and victimization, particularly sexual violence-related trauma, and their impact on victims and their loved ones. 6. Ability to effectively communicate in written form and orally, in a clear, concise manner, with staff, management, partner agencies, victims, and the public. 7. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of social work/holistic case management. 8. Ability to deal tactfully with people from diverse backgrounds and situations. 9. Ability to use good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. 10. Ability to collaborate with Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center staff as well as outside agencies on clients’ cases. 11. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point. 12. Ability to work independently. Special Requirements 1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license or secure one by date of employment. 2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance as of date of employment. 3. Must be able to respond effectively to crisis situations. 4.
