out of 5 stars Norwich, CT 06360 General Description The Teen Outreach Facilitator position will function as a member of the Youth, Family, and Recreation Division of Human Services and will specialize in substance use prevention and mental health promotion. Duties & Responsibilities Act as an essential member of the Drug Free Communities grant implementation team. Assist with the recruitment and continued engagement of members of the Teens Empowering Norwich leadership group, and the Norwich Prevention Council. Participate in the facilitation of mental health, substance use prevention, and wellness activities for the Teens Empowering Norwich leadership group. Develop promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and other advertisements. Participate in the creation of social media content for the Norwich Prevention Council accounts. Attend and assist with the planning of community events. Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the Drug Free Communities Coordinator, or designee. Qualifications Norwich Resident. Valid Connecticut Driver’s License. Between the ages of 18 and 24. Previous exposure to behavioral health topics such as mental health, substance use, etc. Excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone. Must display interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations, including but not limited to youth, schools, law enforcement and community leaders. Proven ability to work independently and excellent organizational skills. Experience with social media sites. Multi-language speaker is preferred but not required.
