Education and Support Fund, which exists to support workers in the hospitality industry, is assisting HEAT, Inc. with this posting. Job Description The Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for leading on the program’s recruitment by engaging union members and relevant community organizations and providers, educating them about HEAT’s training opportunities and educational benefits. Most of your time will be spent making and maintaining relationships with community organizations for mutual referrals, attending union events and going to union sites to engage members, and conducting initial intake with applicants for our programs. Since many job seekers and a significant number of HEAT’s union participants are speakers of languages other than English, someone who has taught adult ESOL classes, and/or has worked with immigrant communities, is preferred. This role requires a dynamic individual with a high level of organization and drive, excellent presentation skills, ability to form and manage good relationships with community partners and individual applicants from diverse backgrounds and communities.

we are seeking someone adaptable, flexible, and comfortable with change. This position reports to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities Outreach & Community Engagement (65% – 70% of time) Conduct outreach to community partners and union members through emails, phone calls, texts, social media, and in-person presentations and site visits. Track recruitment and engagement results, suggesting new potential avenues for recruitment (both institutional, faith-based, and informal) Conduct door to door canvassing outreach in Miami-Dade County communities Suggest or execute materials for engagement, using established CANVA templates and creation or modification of existing materials Serve as the primary contact for interested applicants and existing students Respond to and track online applications from participants Respond to emails from community partners Conduct initial intake interviews for job entry participants Assist in scheduling job entry participant interviews with instructors Plan and assist with logistics for any community events, including recruitment, on site check in or registrations, and follow up Assist with registration at classes and graduation ceremonies Conduct file audits to ensure participant information has been correctly recorded Assist with database entry Additional responsibilities (30% – 35% of time) Depending on your skills and experience you may be asked to: Help with design curricula and lesson plans for employment support lessons as needed Assist with resume creation for HEAT’s job seekers under the direction of Executive Director Assist with 1:1 job interview practice as part of job seekers support programs Using community partner knowledge and relationships, provide referrals for HEAT participants in need of social services assistance Develop strong working relationships with colleagues and external partners and participate in meetings to foster these relationships Other support and tasks in areas of office administration or program logistics, including database entry and management
Requirements Education:
High school diploma or higher (education from outside North America considered)
Work Experience:
2+ years with not-for-profit in workforce development or human services, with labor unions or similar organizations, and/or ESOL instruction for adults Excellent public speaking and communication skills, with strong English writing required Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Cultural awareness and competency in engaging diverse community members Proficiency in CRM systems and social media platforms a plus Bonus if you: Are bilingual (English / Spanish) Have experience in the hospitality industry and/or workforce development Have experience working with those who have barriers to employment and/or are English language learners Have experience using databases Additional Requirements Travel to national training or events as needed Authorized to work in the United States Availability to work evenings and weekends (primarily Saturdays) for events and to assist with registration Valid driver’s license required This position may be subject to a backgound check Benefits 100% employer paid ( health, dental and optical insurance), paid vacation and personal days, 401K
