. The Business Development Lead will play a pivotal role in expanding our referral network across the healthcare and public health sectors in the Tampa/Orlando region. This position is essential to ensuring that patients requiring infectious disease services are effectively connected to our organization through strategic partnerships with clinics, hospitals, community organizations, and public health departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, engage, and establish relationships with clinics, hospitals, urgent care centers, community health organizations, and public health agencies for patient referrals. Will need to travel.
Primary areas of interest:
Orange and Hillsborough Counties . May also need to eventually travel to Duval County. Develop tailored outreach strategies to educate partners about our services, referral process, and the benefits of collaboration. Serve as the primary point of contact for referral partners, ensuring smooth onboarding, communication, and ongoing relationship management. Track referral outcomes and provide regular insights on partnership performance and opportunities for improvement. Represent the organization at local and regional health events and networking opportunities. Report regularly on business development activities and progress to clinic leadership. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time. Wears identification while on duty, uses the computerized time clock system correctly and consistently. Represents the organization positively and professionally in the community. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field (Master’s preferred). 2+ years of experience in business development, outreach, provider relations, or community engagement—preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting. Familiarity with infectious disease care pathways, community health networks, and patient referral systems. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Self-starter with a passion for healthcare access, community building, and patient impact. Existing relationships with healthcare providers, clinics, or public health departments in Orange and Hillsborough Counties a plus. Strong understanding of HIV care and HIV prevention Bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred. Experience working with underserved or high-risk populations. Valid Florida Driver’s License.
