JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Public Engagement & Advocacy, The Field Coordinator at redefinED atlanta is a critical role responsible for executing community engagement strategies, supporting grassroots outreach efforts, and ensuring effective program implementation. This role requires a highly organized, detailoriented, and communitydriven professional who can build relationships, mobilize stakeholders, and coordinate events to increase engagement and impact. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about educational equity, has a strong understanding of the Atlanta community, and excels at fostering partnerships that empower families and communities. The Field Coordinator will be instrumental in amplifying community voices and ensuring their insights are integrated into advocacy and engagement efforts.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES CRITICAL TO ROLE
The Field Coordinator at redefinED atlanta is entrusted with the following responsibilities. Community Engagement & Outreach Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including parents, educators, advocacy groups, nonprofit partners, and local organizations.
Support the execution of grassroots engagement strategies to activate and sustain community participation.
Attend and monitor Atlanta Public Schools (APS) meetings, including GO Team, PTA, and School Board meetings, to stay informed on district decisions and policies affecting families and students.
Represent redefinED atlanta at community meetings, forums, and local events related to education and youth development.
Gather insights from community members and share findings with the internal team to inform engagement strategies.
Conduct canvassing and phone banking efforts to engage and mobilize community members in support of education initiatives and campaigns. Event Coordination & Logistics Support the planning and execution of events, meetings, and engagement sessions. Identify, engage, and build relationships with community stakeholders. This includes ensuring stakeholders receive timely invitations to events, actively promoting events to maximize attendance, and creating meaningful opportunities for participation and input.
Ensure events are accessible, inclusive, and reflective of the diverse communities we serve by implementing communitycentered engagement strategies. Volunteer & Stakeholder Mobilization Recruit, train, and manage volunteers, community ambassadors, and parent leaders to support fieldwork, advocacy, and engagement efforts.
Serve as a resource for volunteers, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and engaged in ongoing initiatives.
Identify and elevate community leaders who can champion key initiatives and drive advocacy efforts at the grassroots level. Administrative Task & Data Reporting Track engagement metrics, attendance, and stakeholder feedback from events and outreach activities.
Maintain detailed records of community interactions and develop summary reports to assess engagement effectiveness.
Leverage data insights to refine outreach strategies and strengthen impact.
Collaborate with internal teams to document learnings and success stories that showcase redefinED atlanta’s community engagement efforts.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES
Deep understanding of the need for families to have choice in highquality education, including traditional public schools, charter schools, and indistrict innovative pathways.
Passion for communitydriven change and advocacy, with a commitment to elevating diverse voices. Strong ability to build relationships across diverse communities and mobilize stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
Excellent event coordination and project management skills with an ability to handle multiple priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
Experience working with volunteers, community groups, or grassroots initiatives.
Proficiency in data tracking, reporting, and evaluating engagement impact.
Availability for evening and weekend events as needed to meet community needs.

COMPENSATION
