Class Summary Job Description The Outreach Coordinator is an appointed position and is responsible for coordinating and delivering voter education and outreach efforts through events, communication, and public engagement. This includes meeting section 203 language assistance requirements and language equity initiative. The incumbent maintains accurate records in accordance with Record Retention schedules, resolves data conflicts, and ensures legal compliance in documentation. The incumbent is also responsible for supervising, training, and evaluating staff to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures are followed. Essential Duties
Planning and executing Voter Outreach and Education Events
- Organizing and leading community events to inform and engage the public on voter registration and election processes
Coordinating Multilingual Election Material Translation - Managing the translation of public-facing election materials in Spanish, Korean, Mandarin/Cantonese (Simplified Chinese), and Vietnamese to ensure language accessibility
Managing Election Record Retention and Disposition - Oversee sorting, packaging, and submission of records for retention, and ensure proper disposal once retention requirements are met.
Delivering Public Presentations - Represent the department by presenting election-related information to community groups, partners, and stakeholders
Performing front desk and reception duties - Provide in-person, phone, and email support to the public, answering questions and routing inquiries appropriately
Developing content for digital and print media - Create and manage content for the website, social media platforms, printed materials, and interviews to support outreach and information-sharing efforts.
Building and verifying sample ballots - Construct sample ballots for public and internal use, ensuring accuracy

The grade for this position is grade 103.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in administration, communication, political science or a related field
Three years of elections experience related to the area of assignment
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Valid driver’s license
Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Will be required to provide original documentation as proof
VRAG and GEOC certificate must be obtained within one year of employment and must be maintained
