Full Job Description Summary:

Are you passionate about storytelling, community building, and the power of sport? Triangle Ultimate is looking for a dynamic and driven individual to launch the first year of our Development & Communications VISTA position. In this role, you’ll help shape the future of Ultimate in the Triangle by strengthening our fundraising efforts and amplifying our message across social media, email campaigns, and our website. This is a unique opportunity to build sustainable impact while growing your skills in nonprofit development and digital communications. We believe that someone who has excellent communication & storytelling skills, takes their own initiative, and can coordinate multiple projects at once will be fantastic in this role. Ultimate in the Triangle is growing fast and we need a skilled storyteller to communicate the impact of our programs and expand our programs to new community members. This position will play a powerful role in communicating regular program logistics to our growing community, messaging our mission, communicating the impact of our year-round programming and building fundraising campaigns.

Triangle Ultimate organizes youth and adult Ultimate Frisbee leagues, tournaments, camps, and clinics in the Triangle region of North Carolina. Our mission is to collaboratively build a community emphasizing accessibility, relationships, and engagement through learning, playing, and teaching the sport of Ultimate. We are a community of parents, players, and enthusiasts, among other things who share the same passion for ultimate and serving our community. Triangle Ultimate runs over 90 different programs throughout the year. Over 50% of our 3,000+ participants are youth. We have strong partnerships with local youth-serving organizations. We focus on building relationships and partnerships with organizations that serve low-income and underserved youth communities. We are a fast-growing organization, and we are looking for the right team member to join us to strengthen our fundraising capacity and enhance our communications across our programs. This position will play a powerful role in messaging our mission and building up the Triangle Ultimate voice across our communication channels. As a Triangle Ultimate Development & Communications VISTA, you will improve individual giving to our organization and enhance communications with our current audience — players and their families. Our organization is run by a dedicated team of 5 full-time employees, many part-time coaches and contractors, as well as hundreds of volunteers. We love our work! Like our other full-time staff, this position will be hybrid, with a mix of in-person at our office, at programs, and working from home. You will have the opportunity to gain skills through professional development, interact with passionate community leaders, and pursue additional certifications and training through our partnerships. Triangle Ultimate also offers free leagues and programs to all of our team members. The Triangle Ultimate VISTA position will: Assist in developing and implementing Triangle Ultimate’s annual fundraising plan, including individual giving, sponsorships, and grant support Collaborate with staff to execute our annual community-driven fundraising event, including planning, promotion, & community engagement Create and manage content for digital platforms, including website updates, social media, newsletters, and blog posts Design and produce marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and reports using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar Collaborate with program staff to gather stories, photos, and impact data for use in communications Support planning and promotion of fundraising campaigns, community events, and donor communications Overview of Up2

Us Sports VISTA Program:

Year-long term running August 12th, 2025 – August 12th, 2026 VISTA will be full-time, working 35-40 hours a week during their term of service.
