(ISS) New York, NY Job Details Full-time $60,000 – $65,000 a year 8 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Bilingual Grassroots community organizing Multilingual Public health communication strategies Coalition building Mid-level 3 years Master’s degree Project management Bachelor’s degree Public Health Public health Social Work Communication skills Full Job Description Position Overview The Community Prevention Coalition Coordinator will facilitate and guide the work of Chinatown360°, a coalition rooted in the needs of Asian American and immigrant youth and families that mobilizes community-based prevention strategies to address alcohol, cannabis, substance use initiation, and related behavioral health risks. Grounded in the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), the Coordinator will build and sustain a multi-sector coalition, support the development and implementation of substance misuse prevention strategies and activities, engage culturally connected community members and partners, in keeping with the

NYS OASAS

Special Populations Initiatives grant. We are especially interested in candidates who bring lived or professional experience working with Asian American and immigrant communities, and who demonstrate a commitment to youth development, health equity, and community-driven prevention. Strong relationship-building skills, cultural responsiveness, and familiarity with Chinatown or similar neighborhoods will be assets in this role. Primary Responsibilities Coalition Leadership & Development Build and maintain a diverse, prevention-focused community coalition with representation from the 12 required sectors Facilitate regular coalition meetings, subcommittees, and working groups Recruit and sustain participation of individuals and organizations from the Asian American/immigrant communities Promote shared decision-making and community ownership of prevention strategies Strategic Planning & Implementation Guide the coalition in updating strategic and sustainability plans based on data and community input Coordinate the implementation of culturally appropriate environmental change strategies (e.g., policy, enforcement, and media) Collaborate with consultants, trainers, and partner agencies to execute coalition activities Community Engagement & Cultural Responsiveness Foster authentic engagement with youth, parents, faith leaders, educators, and immigrant-serving organizations Ensure coalition efforts reflect the language, values, and lived experiences of Asian American/immigrant communities Represent the coalition at community events, stakeholder meetings, and public forums Coordination & Compliance Ensure alignment with OASAS work plan deliverables, reporting requirements, and timelines Maintain regular communication with the Grant Program Manager and Prevention Resource Center (PRC) Support onboarding and coordination with the Data Coordinator and any consultants Communications & Outreach Oversee the development, design, and dissemination of prevention messaging and materials Manage outreach strategies, including use of ethnic media and community-specific platforms Support earned media, social norms, and social marketing campaigns Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, education, community development, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in community organizing, coalition-building, public health, behavioral health, or substance use prevention Demonstrated experience engaging NYC’s Asian American and immigrant communities in culturally responsive ways Knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), environmental prevention strategies, and/or community health promotion Strong facilitation, collaboration, and project management skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and collaborating across teams and diverse stakeholder groups Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including cross-cultural communication Bilingual or multilingual fluency in Asian languages preferred Experience with data reporting tools a plus
