Kids Ministry Director Bay Hope Day School 17030 Lakeshore Road, Lutz, FL 33558 Role Overview The Kids Ministry Director is the point leader for all Kids Ministry environments (ages 6 weeks-5th grade) at all Bay Hope campuses. This role blends high-level ministry leadership with hands-on program execution. They create a vibrant, Christ-centered experience for children and families, while building strong volunteer teams, partnering with parents, and aligning with Bay Hope’s multisite vision. The Director serves as both shepherd and strategist—casting vision, leading programs, and collaborating with peers across campuses. The Kids Ministry Director is also responsible for the leadership of the Lakeshore Elementary ministry. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Culture Champion the mission: To connect children and families to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Build a safe, welcoming, and joyful culture where kids grow in faith and families feel supported. Participate in strategic planning and provide input on multisite vision and curriculum development. Manage Kids Ministry staff team at Lakeshore and a dotted line relationship with Kids ministry team at other campuses. Weekly Programming Lead and manage all weekly Kids Ministry programming, including two Sunday services, one-off events as needed, and holiday services (Christmas, Easter, etc.). Take responsibility particularly for Lakeshore Elementary. Facilitate large group and serve as the primary shepherd for kids during services alongside high capacity volunteers. Ensure consistency with curriculum, safety policies, classroom ratios, and age-appropriate teaching. Troubleshoot and adjust logistics in real time, ensuring a smooth experience for volunteers and families. Volunteer Leadership Recruit, schedule, and equip 20-30+ volunteers weekly across Lakeshore Elementary. Coach Lakeshore staff in their recruitment and training efforts; collaborate with Coordinators at other campuses for alignment and best practices. Create a strong volunteer culture through clear communication, relational care, and team appreciation. Develop high-capacity volunteers to take ownership of check-in, first time guest, stage leadership, or age-group coaching roles. Ensure all safety and onboarding protocols are followed (e.g., background checks, Ministry Protection Policy). Parent & Family Engagement Actively engage with families on Sundays and throughout the week. Equip parents as spiritual leaders through events, resources, and ongoing communication. Coordinate with Care Team to provide support for families navigating illness, crisis, or transitions. Follow up with families who haven’t been active, or who are visiting for the first time Events & Special Programming Lead or collaborate on events like Kids Camp, Promotion Sunday, Milestone Moments, Open House, and family outreach opportunities. Execute campus-specific logistics while aligning with broader ministry goals and team support. Execute Camp ⅘ After School Chapel – Day School Communication & Collaboration Participate in monthly Kids Ministry counterpart meetings and weekly team check-ins. Maintain open collaboration with Campus Pastor, Student Ministry, Special Needs, and Creative/Worship teams. Manage and produce content for Kids Ministry social media, newsletters, and digital resources. Operations & Admin Maintain volunteer schedules, kids data, and curriculum documents using Planning Center and Google Workspace. Manage campus-specific Kids Ministry supplies, budget tracking, and environment readiness. Ensure compliance with all child safety standards and ministry protection protocols. Complete expense reports and approve Kids Team expense reports and time cards. Qualifications for Ideal Candidate A highly relational, Spirit-led leader who blends vision with execution. Skilled at both volunteer development and hands-on ministry. Comfortable leading in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multisite environment. Strong communicator, able to teach kids, train adults, and build trust with families. Detail-oriented and organized with a passion for discipleship.
