Liturgy & Ministry Coordinator 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 215 North Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 SUMMARY The Liturgy and Music Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to plan and execute parish liturgies and celebrations. The Coordinator develops and directs liturgical ministers to provide leadership on Sundays and other special liturgies that will lead parishioners “to that full, conscious, and active participation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. Other duties may be required and assigned. Pastoral Minister as Person of Faith. As a pastoral minister, the Liturgy Coordinator has the responsibility to nurture his or her own faith to nurture the faith of others. Coordinate the planning and execution of all liturgical celebrations, including prayer services, confirmation, baptism, reconciliation, weddings, funerals, and anointing of the sick. Ensures the integrity of the liturgical year in coordination with the Music Ministry and Clergy. Works with Volunteers and Liturgical Committee to recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for each Liturgical Ministry, Sacrament, and Pastoral Care ministries. Coordinates the planning and execution of the Church liturgical environment. Coordinates the parish music program, selects, and plans music in cooperation with the Director and Associate Director of Music. Collaborates with the Liturgy Committee and with other staff members, e.g., DRE, Youth Minister, RCIA, etc., to coordinate and ensure appropriate music for all parish sacramental celebrations, and provides them with consultation and needed assistance. Assist with the choir practices (Youth Choir, Parish Choir). Assist to recruits new choir members and practices with them. Assist with music and/or serve as a cantor during liturgical celebrations, including Sunday Masses, Funerals and Weddings. Keeps abreast of current developments in liturgy and in music. Works to foster unity among all parish musicians, and to create a spirit of harmony with the presider and other liturgical ministers. Assists with the Music budget. Promotes good public relations both within and beyond the parish.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Liturgy, Music or equivalent; Three or more years of experience as a parish liturgist or liturgical coordinator; Possesses a strong knowledge of Church liturgical documents, ritual books, and music publishers; knowledge and experience of liturgical music is a plus; proficient in the use of computers, printers, copiers, and the internet. Proficient in the use of Microsoft products, specifically Office365, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access and simple usage of music writing programs such as Finale/Sibelius. OTHER SKILLS and

WORKING CONDITIONS

The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Performs extensive computer work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar. Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds).
