Full Job Description Purpose of Job:

The role of the Connections Director is to oversee the connection strategy of The dReam Center Church of Atlanta. The Connections Director will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of The dReam Center Church and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission, vision and values. The Connections Director will lead our guests and partners to a genuine sense of belonging and involvement by meeting people where they are and leading them to their next steps. The Connections Director will facilitate relational connection of adults through small groups, growth tracks, management of our Church Center platform and the assimilation of new partners. The Connections Director will oversee the following ministry areas and manage key volunteers:

New Partners Passion Groups Volunteer Engagement Growth Track Global Partners Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Responsible for creating an environment that welcomes new guests and partners that provides next steps toward ministry connection. Ensure a seamless and timely transition for new partners to connect to dReam Teams to engage in volunteerism. Oversee and manage Global Partners to include but not limited to fostering relationships with out-of-state partners, sharing pastoral out-of-state engagements, and supporting shared missions and initiatives. Identify innovative ways to engage global partners and coordinate periodic campus visits. Work to create Passion Groups and identify Passion Group leaders to construct practical on-ramps and systems to help people move from visiting to belonging and growing. Develop a systematic and effective effort to connect people to Passion Groups and Growth Track (sign-up areas, stories, all-church promotions, website, etc.). Oversee information and tracking of Passion Group participants and leaders. Implement a leadership development strategy to identify, recruit, train, develop and coach Passion Group leaders. Work with the Executive Pastors to develop a content strategy for Passion Groups around sermon-based and or passion led lessons and/or other resources. Facilitate strategic conversations with other ministry leaders to incorporate “growth” opportunities in serving teams where appropriate. Oversee New Partner classes and connection opportunities. Remove barriers that keep partners from connecting. Utilize and manage the Planning Center software to stay in touch with partners, first time friends and leadership teams simultaneously by conveying clear messages to all parties. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (Required). Minimum of 5 years of experience leading in a church. Minimum two years related experience; nonprofit experience a plus. Advance knowledge of Planning Center. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong organizational and planning skills. Experience leading and working with multiple teams of adult volunteers. Experience working in a church of 1,500 or more in weekly attendance.

Ability to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among ministry teams. Ability to work independently as well as able to work with virtual and cross functional teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions that positively impact the church and its ministries.

Adaptability :

Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and needs within the church and its ministries. Proven time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in order to meet deadlines. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Hours:

This position may require evening, weekend and holiday work to accommodate ministry events and church activities.

Travel:
