Located on the island of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church is a growing, mission centered body. We exist to lead people to Worship God, Love People and Make Disciples. Our ministry to families takes full advantage of our location at the beach. It is our belief that if we are to reach the next generations with the love, grace and mercy of Christ, and prepare them to live out the Great Commission we must staff our ministries accordingly. We have an immediate need in our Children’s Ministry as we seek to fill the Position of Coastal Kids Director with a candidate who is passionately pursuing God’s call on his or her life.

Job Classification:

Depends on candidate’s qualifications and desires: Part-time position: 20 hours per week Full-time position: 40 hours per week

Minimum Requirements:

• Personal profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Mature Christian with a Christ-like attitude performing all duties “as unto the Lord” with willingness and excitement while displaying a true servant’s heart.
• Impeccable integrity and an ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality.
• Desire and ability to work with parents, volunteers, staff and students.
• Strong oral and writtenmunication skills.
• Self-motivated and a self-starter. Ability to work well with minimum supervision.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make necessary decisions that occur.
• Strongputer, office and audio visual skills preferred or a willingness to learn.
• Associate’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree in education preferred.
• Successful work experience with children in a Christian ministry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the Coastal Kids Ministry
Cast and implement vision for the ministry
Develop and disciple a volunteer team and leaders within it
Schedule leaders for weekly ministry offerings Provide resources for families to encourage spiritual growth with children.
Ensure curriculum and supplies are on hand.
Send weeklymunication and updates to volunteers. Develop and manage children’s ministry budget.

• Ensure children are visited when needed during special events, hospital stays and family emergencies.
• Spend appropriate and necessary time developing and nurturing relationships with children and families. This may include lunch with families, response to medical and prayer needs and other appropriate interactions.
• Oversee all children related programs such as Children’s Sunday School, Children’s Church, Midweek Children’s Activities and Outreach Programs such as VBS, Community events for children, etc.
• Engage children in the overall mission of the church.
• Stay current with children’s ministry practices and flow nation-wide.
• Screen volunteers andplete background checks as needed.

General Duties:

• Attend services weekly, staff meetings, children’s team meetings, church conferences, and church council meetings as needed to represent the Children’s Ministry of WBBC.
• Present annual ministry goals and assessments of programs.
• Coordinate use of security system for children.
