Connectional Ministries Coordinator Fairview Church 2508 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, TN 37803 Fairview Church in Maryville, TN is currently seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our community connections and strengthen relationships within our congregation. The ideal candidate will lead connectional ministries and engage effectively with members, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement. This position is 35 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday (Friday and Saturday off). Additional hours may be required periodically for special events.

Job description:

Works closely with the Associate Pastor, laity leaders and staff to develop and implement programs that engage members in service-oriented ministry. This role oversees and shepherds the volunteers who are involved in ministry opportunities supported by Fairview Church. Responsible to create exceptional visitor experience, focusing on first impressions, clarity of communication and opportunities to foster connection with our church community. Participation in the life of Fairview Church is required of this position, to give the best understanding and insight into the people of the church and its mission.

Overview of Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Basic Needs Ministry. Manage the financial support available for people in need in our community- to include referrals for social services and documentation requirements.
  • Oversee church sponsored ministries. Help them achieve their mission and work within the resource limitations of the church. Coordinate the creation of new ministries as they support the mission of the church.
  • Promote and expand opportunities for visitors and members to engage in service to the community through our ministry groups and local non-profit partners.
  • Staff liaison for Congregational Ministry and Membership Care volunteers.
  • Participate in Discovery classes to ensure new members are aware of volunteer ministry opportunities and are put in touch with leaders for the opportunities they select.
  • Recruit, train and connect volunteers with ministry opportunities within the church.
  • Conduct volunteer recognition and appreciation.
  • Schedule for volunteer-driven activities such as Welcome Desk, Greeters, Ushers, Sanctuary preparation and Great Hall decorations for Christmas, etc.
  • Church related event coordination (Conferences, weddings, funerals, concerts, etc.)
  • Manage seasonal ministry drives in coordination with sponsoring groups such as Angel Tree, Shoe Box, Baby Bottle, bottle caps for benches etc.
  • Oversee the budget for Connectional Ministries.
  • Perform other duties as may be required or as assigned by the Executive Director or Senior Pastor.
Knowledge/Skill/Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Detail orientated and strong organizational skills.
  • Heart for shepherding/encouraging others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills to include- Excel, Word, Teams and Canva.
  • Positive attitude, self-starter and committed to excellence.
Continuing Education Requirements:

Commitment to ongoing personal spiritual growth. Job related training through online learning, conferences or retreats.
