III JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Florida is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Admissions Officer III to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Admissions processing team. This key role is responsible for reviewing and evaluating undergraduate admissions applications, assessing transfer credits, and ensuring compliance with admissions standards. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Transfer Admissions Processing Reviews and evaluates undergraduate admissions applications to ensure they meet the university’s minimum requirements and standards.
Assesses transfer credits and verifies the accuracy and completeness of student submissions for eligibility.
Collaborates with colleges to manage key processes, including application deadlines, available terms for student entry, and referral standards.
Ensures decisions are made and communicated by the designated release deadlines.
Evaluates secondary and post-secondary transcripts to ensure compliance with admissions standards.
Handles escalated situations and serves as the area expert, providing guidance and solutions for complex cases while maintaining high-quality service standards.
Optimizes the efficiency of the application process. Customer Service and Support Serves as a point of contact for prospective and current students, parents, and university personnel, including responding to inquiries and communicating with the general public via phone, email, and in-person, disseminating accurate information to students, parents, and key stakeholders across campus.
Provides support to OneStop staff members with escalated admissions-related inquiries.
Participates in cross-functional events, advises on committees, and engages in Q&A sessions.
Assists with the creation of reference materials in support of OneStop staff member training. Staff Supervision and Development Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates full-time staff and student assistants assigned to the area.
Creates training materials and coordinates training for Admissions business processes across all software platforms utilized in the office.
Coordinates staff work schedules to ensure sufficient office coverage. Other Duties Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with special projects and supporting other areas of Admissions, as needed. This position is located at the University of Florida’s main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management’s policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Experience supervising a team; demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage staff effectively in a high-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, with a proven track record of accurately reviewing and processing complex information to maintain high standards of quality and compliance
