POSITION SUMMARY

The admission/marketing liaison is responsible for coordinating all sub-acute admissions to the pediatric unit. The admission/marketing liaison is responsible for developing a census as defined by the targeted goals outlined in the business plan. They serve as marketing liaisons, developing relationships with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, and other primary referral sources. A nursing license is a plus but not required. We offer competitive earnings.

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in an oriented manner. Ability to work effectively with all persons and disciplines. Ability to work independently. Must have a valid driver’s license and own an automobile. Must be of good moral character and have a sincere desire to work with patients, referral sources, staff, visitors, insurance personnel, and family members. Computer knowledge, including hospital referral programs. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of healthcare operations and legal guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements reflect the duties considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job as identified. It shall not be considered a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position. Ability to make decisions regarding referral appropriateness and evaluate medical appropriateness of referrals for admission and placement into the facility Provide on-site evaluations that incorporate a review of the client’s medical record and contact with other relevant professional contacts. Develops relationships with the referral sources. Manages costs associated with marketing, travel, education, and public relations activities. Participates in facility marketing. Collects data on all patient referrals (admissions, denials, reason denied) Organizes plans and manages time effectively to complete job duties. Provides education, information, in-services, and professional presentations for the community, physicians, and referral sources. Provides facility tours as needed. Respects and maintains confidentiality of all patient records, abides by HIPAA, and uses complete discretion when discussing patient information. Meets with a facility administrator on a monthly basis or as needed. Demonstrates commitment to superior customer experiences with a service-oriented attitude. Other duties assigned

PHYSICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, AND ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS

The successful performance of essential functions can be best achieved through the consistent application of current knowledge, the use of sound judgment and common sense, the ability to establish and carry out priorities, the effective use of interpersonal skills, and ongoing communication with residents: staff, families, interdisciplinary team members, and other coworkers. This job cannot be performed without exposure to the stresses associated with an intimate, 24-hour resident care environment that delivers care and services primarily to disabled and cognitively impaired residents of varied ages. Essential functions are carried out in various positions, including standing and sitting. To meet the residents’ needs, virtually all positions require the ability to move freely throughout the building. Stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying, as well as other physical demands, may be required as described in the Essential Physical Demands of this position.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE MARKETING LIAISON POSITION

Mobility — To move freely through facilities and out of the facility to assess patients. Lifting — Approximately 20 pounds may be required. Climbing/balancing — only to access stored items, minimal need. Stooping and bending — infrequently required. Pushing — Minimal requirement. Standing/Sitting — frequent movement required. Reaching — Minimal need, only routing/accessing of light inventory. Hearing, speaking, vision, and color vision — are needed only for communication skills.
