Co-executive directors lead an impressive team of 14 in this newly REimagined college counseling program. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to work with some of the nation’s best students and to contribute to the development of a college counseling program focusing on individualized student strategies, utilizing data analytics, and elevating RE students in an increasingly competitive admissions landscape. We are looking for college counselors who bring an expert skill set to the position, have extensive knowledge of admissions at selective colleges and universities, and want to partner with students and families in the college admissions process. Successful candidates will possess a comportment that will inspire confidence and allow for effortless interaction with students, parents, faculty, admissions officers, and the RE community at large. Hardworking, energetic, and highly organized, the right person will be a team player who contributes to a positive experience for students, parents, and the RE community. Responsibilities Meet with students concerning all phases of the admissions college process and communicate regularly with students and their parents, guiding students and families through the college search and application process. Maintain detailed records of conversations and planning process. Develop strong ties with parents and other key stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with college admission officials, keeping them well-informed about the academic program, student experience, and signature programs at RE. Write a compelling and detailed counselor letter for college admissions for each RE senior in the caseload. Maintain periodic communication and provide updates about prospective students with colleges. Participate in and/or lead college counseling programs and workshops during summer. Assist and/or lead college counseling programming for students, parents and the greater RE community, including school-day, evening and weekend events. Contributes to regular communications published by the college counseling office. Travel periodically to attend national conferences and visit college campuses nationwide. Utilize relevant college counseling software, including Naviance and College Kickstart, to assist students and families. Engage in the school community through committee work, faculty and staff programs, leading co-and extracurricular activities, and/or other such activities. Provide counsel to faculty advisors and class deans regarding curriculum and student course selections per the college process. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is preferred. Combined experience of five or more years as an admission officer and/or college counselor in selective college admission processes. Experience with student learning management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace. Experience with Naviance and College Kickstart or related college admissions platform(s). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Social media savvy and ability to communicate with various stakeholders using multiple platforms. Skilled at gathering information and data, analysis of data, and preparing and delivering presentations with data and other research tools. Ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
