Primary Function of Organizational Unit The primary function of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to identify, attract, and enroll first year and transfer students with outstanding academic ability and potential. Required Competency Client/Customer Service Duties Serves as an integral part of an admissions team charged with the responsibility of identifying, recruiting and enrolling a highly qualified new student class each year. Articulates admissions policies and procedures to students, parents and counselors by participating in University undergraduate admission recruitment activities, including college day/night programs, individual visits to post-secondary institutions, alumni meetings, campus visitation programs, and other events as required. Participates in recruitment activities that will involve extensive travel, both in state and out of state. Conducts information sessions on campus for prospective students and parents. Attends meetings with University faculty and various University committees to represent the Admissions Office. Understands and identifies student services issues, client needs and matters of a recurring nature to effectively address and resolve the issue. Demonstrates substantial interpersonal skills (written and verbal), good judgement, flexibility, and team work. Conducts ongoing outreach; engages with prospective students via phone, email and in person; and provides superior customer service.
