Full Time Position Summary:
The Admissions Counselor will arrange, facilitate and execute all aspects of recruitment for the Undergraduate Admissions Office. The counselor will facilitate both on and off-campus recruitment events and serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students regarding the admissions process. This position requires travel approximately 40% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage assigned territories by strategically using demographic research, historical data, specialized reports, and current enrollment trends. Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner through various mediums of communication. Establish and maintain relationships with students/parents, University officials, and outside connections. Provide superior customer service. Following training on the application review process, review files and make admission decisions of acceptance, deferral, or denial. Counsel students regarding the admissions process, decision and next steps for enrollment (i.e. enrollment deposit, housing, health services, event registration, etc.). Conduct individual and group appointments. Participate in special events as scheduled. Act as a liaison between Admissions and assigned departments on campus. Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment activities and strategies, continuously recommending changes, and/or enhancements. Arrange and facilitate all aspects of off-campus recruitment; to include travel, accommodations and visits. Travel for recruitment is required, including overnight stays. Maintain and complete projects, tasks and communications while travelling; submit travel and activity reports as requested. Coordinate with Supervisor and other Counselors to ensure scheduled events and office coverage are handled during periods of high travel. Upon hire, obtain familiarity with Campbell University, its departments, colleges, campuses and facilities. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, Information Security, FERPA, and all federal and state mandates. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time, with or without notice. Physical attendance is necessary in this role.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Two or more years’ experience in sales, marketing, and/or recruitment desired. Experience in CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of social media marketing desired. Experience in higher education or non-profit sector is desired. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and other standard platforms for digital communication. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion when dealing with current and prospective students/parents, faculty, staff, University officials, and the public. Work independently as well as function effectively in a team, and within a diverse group of people. Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations. Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines. Availability to work evenings/weekends and travel extensively, including overnight stays. Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to work in a changing environment. Comfortable using and learning current and emerging technology. Work effectively in an environment with shared office space and where defined boundaries are limited. This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
