Full Time Position Summary The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (CPHS) Admissions Counselor plays a pivotal role executing strategic recruitment initiatives to include recruiting, advising, and guiding applicants from initial inquiry through application. The Admissions Counselor will recruit and represent all CPHS graduate and professional programs at on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events. The Admissions Counselor serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students, fielding questions and responding to inquiries/concerns through various forms of communication/mediums, and documents all recruitment activities, evaluates the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, and makse recommendations for recruitment changes and/or enhancements. The Admissions Counselor will prepare statistical reports, compile, and assess the data. They will report the findings to their supervisor and develop a database of recruitment opportunities. The travel expectation is 80% of the position responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate administrative support and all logistics pertaining to recruitment and effectively and timely communicating with faculty and staff assisting with recruitment. This includes arranging and facilitating all aspects of off-campus recruitment and travel plans across the nation with an emphasis. These visits will consist mostly of private visits, classroom presentations, pre-health club visits, and recruitment fairs. Assist in undergraduate pre-health recruitment as needed , including campus visits, visitation days, high school/middle school outreach initiatives. Organize, plan, and execute innovative, interactive on and off campus, and virtual recruiting events including visitation days, information sessions, exploration days, workshops, etc. Develop and execute specialized admissions sessions and presentations, continuously improves innovative recruitment and retention strategies for more effective on and off campus, and virtual recruitment including accurate data tracking. Develop innovative and high impact programming designed to recruit CPHS graduate and professional students through departmental collaboration. Establish and maintain relationships with college/university advisors, pre-health advisors, faculty mentors and career counselors at Campbell University, community colleges and universities across the nation. Maintain up-to-date contact list for college/university advisors, faculty, and club presidents/contacts. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admissions, analyze admissions and recruitment data, as well as data collected from students prior to the start of each recruitment cycle and apply necessary changes in specific areas to assist with recruiting. Ensure updated and accurate program materials and promotional items/giveaways are always fully stocked. Develop and maintain personalized communications in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for prospects and advisors. Collaborate with CPHS staff and faculty to assist with inter-departmental projects and events, as needed. Regularly maintain an updated admissions counselor manual and training site. Submit regular reports to Assistant Dean of Admissions as necessary that critically evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment activities, including a detailed monthly report of activities and outcomes.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Two or more years’ experience in a higher education setting preferred, such as admissions, recruitment, advising, student life, or student affairs; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Experience with
CRM, SIS, MS
Office, and social media marketing knowledge and skills preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with all groups through both oral and written channels. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and the Internet. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in interacting with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public. Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people. Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations. Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines. Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment. Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours and occasional travel; including overnight stays. This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University. Possess a strong working knowledge of all CPHS graduate and professional programs and advise applicants on specific admissions criteria. This includes providing superior customer service to current and prospective students via phone, email, virtually, and in person, and responding to prospective and incoming students, staff, and faculty within 24 hours.
