Full Job Description Summary:
The Admissions Clinician is part of the Admissions/Customer Relations Team and ensures that inquiries are responded to promptly and screened appropriately. Responsible for developing and monitoring relationships with individuals and families as well as referral sources. Acts as liaison between referral sources and clinicians at WestBridge. Participates in the development of internal as well as external customer relations. Contributes to event planning and business development activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Spends a majority of time managing all aspects of the pre-screening/admission process for assigned cases. Responds to admission calls in a timely manner. Conducts initial phone engagement and screening for admissions, and presents data collected to the admissions / transitions committee. Prepares and coordinates admission process for each individual and family admitted to WestBridge. Demonstrates ability to maintain documentation as it relates to admissions and customer relations, by utilizing customer relationship software and EMR database software. Works with the clinical team, medical team, participant and family in developing a transition/discharge plan that is clinically appropriate and aligns with WestBridge policies and procedures specific to transitions and discharge planning. Assists participant and family for the transition of services (i.e. to CIP or other recommended level of care) by providing education around relevant community and/or treatment resources. Completes quality assurance duties as needed Responds to and prepares medical record requests. Conducts two-week chart audit process for new admissions. Maintains documentation as it relates to admissions and case management duties. Conducts ongoing chart audits at least quarterly on WestBridge program charts. This is to also include audits at time of transition or discharge. Completes clinical duties as needed May perform intake assessment and evaluations across all programs. May participate in clinical engagements as needed by the clinical teams (such as Family Education and Support sessions, clinical updates, groups and/or individual counseling). In coordination with the Director of Admissions and Family Services, may provide support to the Family Recovery Resource program Spends the required amount of time on Relationship Management/Business Development activities. Develops and maintains relationships with other providers and referral sources, as it relates to admissions duties. Participates in the development of the annual admissions data and processing. Works with Business Development team to plan, monitor, manage, & staff special events related to customer relations. Attends and participates actively in organizational committees, representing the admissions team. Attends and actively participates in both weekly individual and team supervision. Participation in the clinical on-call rotation (which includes weeknights, weekends and holidays split amongst staff).

Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited institution in a mental-health related discipline, or equivalent combination of a Bachelor’s Degree and clinical screening and assessment experience. Skill in participant assessment, including the use and withdrawal from substances, change in psychiatric status, physical health and safety. Skill in participant and family engagement including the use of reflective listening, problem-solving and motivational techniques. Working knowledge in the treatment of mental illness or substance-use populations as appropriate. Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing confidentiality. Is detailed orientated and solution focused. Skill in working and communicating with others and across disciplines. Demonstrates a high standard of professional conduct, professional boundaries, professional appearance and ethical behavior that will enhance the quality of care and encourage healthy interactions among staff. Valid drivers’ license and appropriate vehicle insurance (liability limits of at least 100,000 bodily injury per person /300,000 bodily injury per accident/100,000 property damage). Computer skills including but not limited to, Internet access, word processing, report writing and CRM applications necessary to generate appropriate reports allocated to the position of Admissions/Customer Relations.
