College Admissions Counselor 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 11833 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375 Job description Admission Counselors are responsible for engaging, counseling, and enrolling prospective students interested in Associate and Baccalaureate degrees in one of the College’s 5 Schools of Study including the Schools of Nursing, Dental Sciences, Allied Health, Business and Court Reporting. Working alongside the Director of Admissions, this position is designed to offer a foundational understanding of college admissions and provide exposure opportunities that can lead to rapid professional growth and development.

Duties:

• Serve as a primary contact for prospective students and applicants.
• Conducting information sessions and tours for prospective students and their families
• Reviewing applications and collaborating with the Dean of Enrollment Management, Director of Admissions, and various committees to make informed admission decisions.
• Providing academic advisement to students on course selection, degree requirements, and career goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with prospective students and their families
• Minimum of 2 years in a professional work setting
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Desire for accelerated professional growth and development.

Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with prospective students and their families
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of higher education admissions processes and procedures

Requirements:
