Job Description :

Early Intervention Service Coordinator Full Time The Early Intervention Service Coordinator serves as an advocate and point-of-contact for families in the identification, acquisition, and provision of services designed to promote the achievement of skills for infants, toddlers, and young children who are deaf or hard of hearing. This position is required to make home visits and remain in close contact with family members of the WISE client.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Receive and process referrals for Early Intervention in a timely manner. Serve as the point of contact in helping families obtain services and assistance. Facilitate and participate in the development, review, and evaluations of IFSPs. Schedule and conduct evaluations. Coordinate the provision of early intervention services for each child on assigned caseload. Facilitate the timely delivery of available services. Seek appropriate services and situations necessary to benefit the development of each child being served for the duration of the child’s eligibility. Inform families of the availability of advocacy services. Coordinate with medical and health providers. Facilitate the development of a transition plan to preschool services, if appropriate. Maintain program compliance with Alabama’s Early Intervention System. Maintain Medicaid documentation. Complete all AEIS training workshops. Complete all documentation as required by ADRS and WISE. Maintain caseload number as determined by Executive Director. Represent WISE at local and statewide meeting.

Requirements, Skills/Abilities:

Meet the Personnel Standards developed by the Personnel Preparation Subcommittee of the interagency Coordinating Council (CC). Complete AEIS Special Instruction Webinar/Special Instruction Mentorship training within the first 12 months of employment. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Early Intervention Part C. Maintain necessary skills through active participation in required workshops and training. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing. Display professional appearance and conduct in representing WISE and adhere to its policies, culture, and standards. Have reliable transportation to travel to home visits. Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s license. Pass a background screening.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related human service fields acted by Alabama Early Intervention System’s (AEIS) document, “Personnel Standards for Alabama Early Intervention System” Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, or Teacher of the Hearing Impaired. Other degrees considered based on experience. Minimum of one-year experience as a Service Coordinator in Alabama Early Intervention System. Experience working with children B-age 5.
