Position Status:
Full Time Position Summary:

Provides social service post adoption casework support and consultation to adoptive families and birth families. Performs administrative tasks related to the maintenance of post adoption reporting and ongoing post adoption projects for domestic adoption and pregnancy counseling.

Primary Duties:

To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners Actively participates on the team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with other team members, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc. Disciples’ ministry partners and clients. Aligns team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values While adhering to excellent social services standards and in compliance with Lifeline’s Core Values and Ministry Goals provide ongoing support and discipleship to adoptive parents and birth parents post adoption Identifies and implements opportunities to connect families and birth parents to the local church for support Conducts intentional and regular follow up to assigned caseload of families or birth families with focus on discipleship Assist with planning post events for birth parents (such as support groups, retreats etc.) in coordination with supervisor and Pregnancy Counseling team. Collaborates with Reunion Manager on post support for birth parents Provide post placement support to birth parents when their original/local pregnancy counselor is not available. Assist birth parents and adoptive parents in coordinating/scheduling annual visits, if needed. Manage/triage adoptive family and birth family crisis by providing intake, referrals, and resources with focus of connecting families to LCS counseling and education services. Assist in mediating correspondence needs by following up with families that are late with correspondence assisting in renegotiating correspondence agreements and mediating between birth and adoptive families when correspondence issues arise. Maintains regular communication with supervisor and other Domestic Services leadership for learning and developing changes in domestic adoption and pregnancy counseling and to receive guidance as needed with challenging situation, difficult cases, etc. when additional guidance, assistance or support is needed. Works collaboratively with the Domestic Adoption and Pregnancy Counseling programs to ensure program goals and best practices are implemented in post adoption support Able to instruct and train in both continuing education and training settings. Maintains good working relationships with the leadership and staff, including resolving all disputes in a Biblically prescribed fashion. Represents the ministry in a professional manner in and away from the office. Assisting in agency-related events, including the annual staff retreat, the annual dinner, anniversary celebrations, across all Lifeline programs Maintains Social Work License and state-required annual training hours

Minimum Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in social work (preferred) or a related human services field (whichever is required by State)

Experience:

No experience needed except where required by

State Licensure:

Not required unless required by State; Social Work licensure, strongly preferred

Other:

Must lift at least 25lbs, must have reliable transportation
