Teen Coordinator YMCA of Greater Montgomery Montgomery, AL 36110 Job Overview Consistent with the Christian mission and Vision of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff the Teen Coordinator is responsible for administering and delivering programs for the youth in the community. The Teen Coordinator will work with our youth to determine their needs and develop programs in response to those needs. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greater Montgomery is responsible for upholding the Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character – caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Teen Coordinator positions will be available at the following locations: Wilson YMCA, Grandview YMCA, Midtown YMCA, Cleveland Avenue YMCA, Bell Road YMCA and Wetumpka
YMCA. RESPONSIBILITIES
Work as the teen coordinator for Y teen summer membership program Develop relationships and communicate with youth to engage them in the programs and activities of the Bell Road Y Research and implement programs for youth specifically between the ages of 12 to 17 Hours will be based on peak teen attendance times/days (typically evenings M-F) Conduct teen orientations Ensure a variety recreational, cultural and service related programs are planned and implemented Administer surveys/evaluations of summer program and volunteer curriculum Evaluate the effectiveness of programs Recruit, train and oversee volunteers Promote and market programs to youth and community Monitor the use of equipment and facilities Education/Experience High School Diploma or its equivalent
Certifications Required:
First Aid and CPR Certification, He/she must complete Blood Borne Pathogens and Child Sexual Abuse Detection/Prevention training
