BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with certification in Hearing or Vision impairment.
ORBachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related human service fields accepted by Alabamas Early Intervention Systems (AEIS) document, Personnel Standards for Alabamas Early Intervention SystemCertification of Journey through Early Intervention in
Alabama-Level I and Message ReVITALIZED:
Journey Level II after three (3) months of employmentDocumentation as Alabama Approved in conducting the Routines Based Interview (RBI) and in Routines Based Home Visiting (RBHV) within twelve (12) months of employment.
A sign language proficiency level of
SURVIVAL
must be obtained within the first twenty-four (24) months of employmentMinimum of one year experience in the Alabama Early Intervention System, with AIDB internship experience considered as qualifying experience.

- Maintain program compliance with Alabamas Early Intervention System (AEIS) through the Monitoring Review processAccept and process referrals in a timely mannerMaintain records and documentation in a timely and organized manner in compliance with AIDB and AEIS standardsAttend required workshops and participate in training through other sources based on identified individual and program training needsComplete appropriate Medicaid training/maintain required Medicaid documentationCoordinate the timely provision of Early Intervention servi es across agency linesServe as a team member with other staff, therapists, and service providersServe as the single point of contact in helping parents obtain needed services, advocating on behalf of the needs and rights of children and their familiesFacilitate and participate in the development, review, and evaluation of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), inclusive of Six-Month Reviews, Annual Reviews, and Transition PlansCoordinate planned interaction of personnel, materials, and time and space that leads to achieving the outcomes on the childs IFSPCoordinate the performance of evaluations and assessmentsProvide the family with information, skills, and supports related to enhancing the childs development of skillsWork with the child to enhance the childs developmentPlan home visits, parent workshops, and play groupsComplete Provider Services Rendered Forms that are in compliance with Alabamas Early Intervention System (AEIS) Monitoring ReviewsCollect data on child and parent progress; compile progress reports to determine accountability for direct/consultative instructionServe as point of contact for RISE Together Preschools referrals from AIDB Early InterventionCollaborate with the RISE Program Specialist on referrals and services for children served through the RISE Together Preschool ProgramCoordinate and provide services to children aged 3-5 who were served by an AIDB Early Intervention North ProgramParticipate in the development of IEPs for children with hearing and/or vision differences served by a Local Education Agency (LEA)Complete 150 clock hours of VI and HI training through AIDB approved workshopsOther duties as assignedUpon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB.
