Child Nutrition Program Director Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
RD (registered dietitian) credentials also considered in addition to State qualifications for Child Nutrition Director as prescribed by 290-080-030-06. Work with the school principal to interview, screen, and recommend appointment of Child Nutrition Program Managers. Coordinate personnel policies of Child Nutrition Program personnel or other support personnel when so directed. Assist with the observation and evaluation process of the appropriate employees. Assist in the preparation of specifications and bid conditions for all items connected with the Child Nutrition Program. Coordinate the request, distribution, and transfer of food items. Work with the Health Department in inspecting facilities and enforcing regulations to insure cleanliness, health, and safety. Demonstrate competency in the use of technology. Supervise Child Nutrition Program accounting procedures in cooperation with the State Department of Education. Prepare for audits of Child Nutrition Program accounts. 10. Review and evaluate requests for purchase of equipment. 11. Supervise the preparation and distribution of all Child Nutrition Program applications and regulations. 12. Develop recommendations to the Board concerning Child Nutrition Program policies. 13. Consult with school planners and architects on plans and specifications for new or renovated food preparation centers. 14. Develop school menus in accordance with USDA meal pattern requirements. 15. Maintain required professional development and training as set by the ALSDE Child Nutrition Programs. 16. Be regular and punctual in attendance. 17. Adhere to all Board policies, school system rules, school system administrative procedures, and federal, state, and local laws. 18. Report work absences and take leave in accordance with Board policies, school system rules, school system administrative procedures, and applicable law. 19. Maintain proper and professional relationships with students, school system employees, and school visitors. 20. Perform assigned job duties in a courteous and professional manner. 21. Properly care for equipment and material resources of the school system. 22. Maintain confidentiality regarding school and/or workplace matters in accordance with federal and state law. 23. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
