Job Description
Victim Advocate AR 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s office Heber Springs, AR 72543 The 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney is seeking a part-time Victim Advocate for their Heber Springs office. This position may lead to a full-time opportunity in October. The Advocate will provide direct services to crime victims and recruit and manage volunteer advocates. The Advocate must work respectfully, non-judgmentally, and professionally with individuals of all ages, races, religions, national origin, disabilities, sexual identities, immigration status, and socio-economic levels. The Advocate will work under the direction of the district victim assistance coordinator. To meet victim needs, the Advocate may occasionally be required to work outside regular business hours and work in other counties within the 16th Judicial District. Reliable transportation is essential for this position. A high school diploma or GED, computer literacy including Word and Excel, and some college are preferred. Bilingual language skills are a plus. The Advocate should be detail-oriented with a strong record keeping and organizational skills, professional and interpersonal skills, clear judgment and maturity, and the ability to handle stressful, sensitive, and confidential information. They should also be able to solve problems in a calm and logical manner. Adaptability and flexibility in job assignments are desirable, as is a willingness to work collaboratively in team situations. Social services or courtroom experience is a plus.
