Master’s degree in Social Work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Educion (CSWE). A doctoral degree in Social Work may NOT be substituted for the master’s degree in Social Work. Licensed or certified by a ste to independently practice social work the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examinion, unless they are grandfhered by the ste in which they are licensed to practice the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examinion for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure.

Grade Determinions:

In addition to the basic requirements sted above, the following qualificion criteria must be met for each grade. The candide’s qualificions must clearly demonstre the level of competence required for the grade. Supervisory Social Worker GS-12

Experience:

Must have One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstre possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administrion demonstring progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candide may have certificion or other post-master’s degree training from a nionally recognized professional organizion or university th includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience.

Licensure:

Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities . In addition to the experience above, candides must demonstre all of the following

KSAs:

Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. Knowledge of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision, consultion, negotiion with other departments and quality improvement. Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services. Ability to provide staff training and development. Skill in interpersonal relionships in dealing with employees, team leaders, and managers.
