This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic leader who is passionate about creating joyful, supportive, and memorable experiences for children in grades K-5. The KidsPlace Coordinator will play a key role in the daily operations of our licensed afterschool program, vacation day offerings, and serve as a member of the Summer Camps leadership team, all within a collaborative and welcoming community environment. About KidsPlace and the Youth & Family Team KidsPlace is the Stamford JCC’s premier after-school program, providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in grades K-5. Our Youth & Family Team also oversees enrichment classes, major events, holiday programs, and Day Camps @ The J, offering a wide range of opportunities for youth development and family engagement. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the KidsPlace After-School Program, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for all participants. Provide onsite leadership and support to program staff, fostering professional growth and high-quality program delivery. Serve as the primary point of contact for families, maintaining proactive and responsive communication with parents, children, staff, and community stakeholders. Develop, schedule, and implement age-appropriate activities and enrichment opportunities for afterschool and vacation day programs. Oversee and coordinate vacation day programming when school is not in session. Collaborate as a member of the Summer Camps leadership team, supporting camp planning and execution. Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements and JCC policies and procedures. Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace culture. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience working with school-age children in formal or informal educational settings. 1-3 years of experience managing or developing children’s programming. Highly organized, process-oriented, and able to balance focus with flexibility. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse community. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as needed. Warm, cheerful, patient, and nurturing demeanor. Flexible, mature, and responsible approach to work. Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
