Full Job Description Youth Protection Guidance:

Oversees administrative functions of office staff coordinating 4-H volunteer screening efforts. Provides guidance to 4-H volunteers, faculty, and staff on youth protection policies and practices, in alignment with UF policies, state and federal laws, and positive youth development principles. Serves as a point of contact and liaison to the UF Office of Youth Protection. Conducts audits of 4-H youth programs to ensure compliance. Develops and delivers training to volunteers, faculty, and staff based on of federal and state laws to ensure compliance with University and departmental policies and maintain up-to-date understanding of youth protection requirements.

Process and Manage Volunteer Screenings:

Establishes work priorities, sets deadlines to ensure the timely and accurate processing of approximately 12-13 volunteer applications daily, meeting the annual goal of 3,000 screenings. Ensure timely and accurate processing of upcoming expiring volunteer fingerprints within their 60-day window of eligibility. Reviews and processes applications, making final eligibility decisions based on background checks and risk factors. Ensures annual updates of inactive volunteers in Clearinghouse Results Website. Oversees the process for uploading of supporting documents to volunteer management systems. Collaborates with the Department of Children and Families (DCF-ACHA) database for input, processing, review, and scheduling purposes. Adjudicates Level 1 screening results to determine volunteer eligibility based on Florida State Statute and UF HR policy. Acts as DCF Administrator and Liaison for 4-H Youth Development and works closely with UF Youth Compliance. Ensures appropriate and current account receivable processing is taking place for collection of screen billings. Oversees and works closely with 4-H Online Database and the State 4-H Information Coordinator for accurate reporting and documentation.

Supervise Volunteer Screening Procedures:

Implements and oversees a streamlined process for application intake, communication, background checks, and document collection to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Develops and administers annual audits for Level 1 and Level 2 volunteers statewide. Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

$58K to $62k commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred In-depth knowledge of youth protection policies, legal guidelines, and positive youth development principles. Comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory standards in volunteer management. Proficiency in utilizing volunteer management systems. Demonstrated experience with background checks, risk assessment, and compliance processes. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity. Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
