POSITION SUMMARY:

The Teen and Family Coordinator position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. In this role, the individual will coordinate and manage activities, events, and programs throughout the year servicing teens and families. Some of which will be Middle School Summer Travel Camp, monthly family nights, literacy events, birthday parties, parent’s night out and any other events that may arise. The Teen & Family Coordinator will directly report to the Youth and Family Director. This is a year round, in-person position. Estimated 30 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administers, leads, and manages the total operation of teen and family programs at both branches, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program; securing, scheduling, and maintaining the needed facilities; creating and scheduling the activities or events; assuring staffing coverage, and maintaining program records or files. Ensures programs services meet community needs and quality programming requirements, and to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Coordinate, manage, and implement all aspects of Middle School Summer Travel Camp, monthly family nights, literacy events, birthday parties, parents night out and any other events that may arise. Assist with coordination, planning, and execution of specific Youth & Family Department events throughout the year as assigned. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate; ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Responsible for monitoring collection of fees and working with membership team to ensure all participants are registered. Responsible for program plans and records to ensure consistency with evidence-based best practices and policies are followed. Must be able to manage a group, motivate and inspire young people, help them to engage in YMCA and community activities, encourage self-governance and encourage positive teen-driven decision making while maintaining a safe and values-driven environment. Responsible for effectively handling all emergency incidents and submitting proper documentation. Must be able to fill in as a sub at any location if appropriate coverage is not met. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents, and community organizations to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes; maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. One to two years related experience (e.g., supervisor or coordinator of teen or family programs) Minimum age of 21. YMCA Team Leader certification preferred. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific training. Must be able to supervise, coach, and manage volunteers and teens. Must be able to supervise and instruct large groups. Knowledge of event planning, various activities and teen programming preferred. Must be extremely organized, task oriented, flexible, able to work under pressure, make assigned deadlines, and be able to communicate effectively. Must be knowledgeable and proficient with computer software programs. Must meet YMCA driving criteria. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
