THIS POSITION MAY BE LOCATED AT ANY LOCATION WITHIN THE NWF HEALTH NETWORK SERVICE AREA. POSITION OBJECTIVE
Serve as a strategic liaison to foster effective communication and collaboration between the fatherhood peer specialist and supervisor and the child protection workforce. Ensure alignment of goals, facilitate resource sharing, and support the integration of fatherhood initiatives within child protection practices to enhance outcomes of the father and his child(ren).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct or attend staffings as needed for the Fatherhood Initiative.
- Facilitate communication between the fatherhood specialist and child protection staff when needed.
- Coordinate and lead regular meetings to discuss the progress, challenges, and strategies that Fatherhood Peers encounter with their fathers.
- Identify, create, and distribute relevant resources, tools, and information on the father’s ongoing case management case.
- Assist in developing and delivering training sessions for fatherhood programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of fatherhood initiatives with clients to recommend the continuation or cessation of services.
- Advocate for the inclusion of fatherhood programs in child protection policies and practices
- Address issues or barriers in the collaboration between the fatherhood specialist and child protection workforce.
- Maintain accurate records of communications, meetings, and program outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data related to fatherhood initiatives to inform decision-making and improve program outcomes.
- Review and provide policy addendums or suggestions as needed.
- Conduct community outreach as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or a combination of education and experience required for eligibility for a child welfare certification by the Florida Certification Board. (See Requirements in Attachment).
- Previous experience in a social service organization
- Child Protection Professional Certification – Current or provisional certification and significant employment history in the child protection field.
- Previous Dependency Case Management or Child Protection Investigation experience
PREFERRED
- Experience with the Fatherhood Initiative.
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of the Fatherhood Initiative and its core tenets.
- Knowledge of the Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) system with demonstrated ability to navigate and utilize FSFN system to efficiently locate, assess, and interpret relevant information.
- Knowledge of child and family histories, habits, tendencies, general behaviors, referrals made and case plan goals.
- Knowledge of agency’s organizational structure, standard operating procedures, and policies.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and facilitate discussions.
- Computer skills to include basic knowledge of Smartsheet, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to understand, familiarize and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills, as well as initiative to maximize ability in meeting deadlines.
