DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM
Parenting Services (Family Learning Center program)
Position Summary:
This is a non-exempt, full-time 37.5 hours per week direct services position responsible for delivery and facilitation of parenting curriculum and light case management to young parents. This position reports to the Family Learning Center Program Manager. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan and deliver parent educational programing for young parents (group and/or individual). Develop relationships with the Hillsborough County school district staff and other young parent serving agencies. Provide connections to community resources and other Champions programs as needed by program participants. Complete accurate and timely data collection to complete reporting requirements. Attend staff meetings, on-going in-service training and supervision as required. Participate on appropriate agency, project and community planning teams. Plan and deliver parent-child interactive activities that involve the young parent and their children. Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral sciences, human services, education or related field. Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet. Ability to work in the office, virtually and in the field; ability to deliver instruction in-person and in a virtual environment. Ability to work non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends. Professional, self-directed, follow-through on projects and prompt responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders. High degree of interpersonal skills, team-oriented, customer service focused enjoys working with others. Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly. Detail oriented, with excellent organization skills required.
Light physical demands:
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects; lift and move materials up to 10 pounds on a regular basis; infrequently require lifting or move materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Some travel in the communities served; must have a reliable car, active auto insurance, and valid Florida driver’s license.
