JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible supervisory position overseeing the overall operation of a specific team in the SEEDS program. This position will work collaboratively with the community to ensure children birth through 3rd grade and their families receive services tailored to meet their needs and promote positive educational outcomes. Participates and provides leadership in the organization’s performance and quality Improvement efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides oversight, team supervision, and individual supervision to the percent threshold set by the agency and contract outcome requirements.
Oversees provision of family support services identified in the support plan.
Ensures completion of all paperwork in a timely manner as in accordance with program/contract requirements.
Participates in staff development programs and opportunities.
Participates in team meetings, utilization reviews, staff meetings, and peer reviews.
Selects, supervises and trains team staff. Responsible for completing employee evaluations on those directly supervised and for ensuring that effective employee development, discipline and recognition programs are implemented within framework of Children’s Home Network’s Human Resources policies and procedures.
Goes on home visits at least once per quarter with each team staff.
Participates in and attends Family Literacy events and SEEDS Family events as assigned and as per contract requirements.
Conducts face-to-face meetings with school principal and/or school personnel during the school year as required.
Serves as back up to Family Team Conference Coordinators to schedule and facilitate Family Team Conference in person.
Attends all assigned committee meetings.
Ensures that all contract objectives are met.
Operates within the approved budget.
Attends internal and external meetings, conferences and trainings as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned. •

•MINIMUM

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services or related field from an accredited university or college required, plus two (2) years’ experience in children’s services or education, and one (1) year of which included supervisory duties.

Licenses & Certifications:

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension.
Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance. Must be insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with families, coworkers, supervisors, and other individuals. Possess effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of agency’s organizational structure, standard operating procedures, and policies.
Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.
Knowledge of intervention and behavior management methods, strategies, and techniques.
Knowledge of quality documentation as required by agency standards, rules, and regulations.
Knowledge of wraparound services, family team conferencing and the 40 developmental assets.
Ability to conduct assessments to plan treatment services and to provide follow-up services as needed.
Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member in a positive productive manner.
Possess skills necessary to assess, interpret, and deliver care-related information concerning the life-span development of children and families.
An extensive knowledge of child development and infant mental health issues.
Possess a positive attitude concerning all aspects of working in a challenging environment, including significant patience and respect for children and families who can become quite angry and demanding, sensitivity to cultural needs, and willingness to serve as a positive member of a working team.
Possess knowledge of effective supervisory skills and employee management techniques.
Possess workable knowledge of community resources.
Speak, write, and read English and Spanish fluently.

Visual:

ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, read printed materials, and make observations of physical facilities.

Hearing:

ability to understand and comprehend spoken dialogue in individual and group settings.
Ability to speak clearly and effectively.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work in an office environment as well as external environments (home visits) that require driving to and from various locations.
