Supervised Visitation Monitor The Toby Center for Family Transitions Tampa, FL Hello! Thank you so much for inquiring about the Toby Center’s search for Family Visitation Monitors! Therapists, too! We are now searching for several new staff members in Hillsborough County to join our team of independent contractors to serve families in the Circuit Court! Do you have a minimum of three years working with children as teacher, mentor, case manager, therapist? Do you have an incident free criminal background? As a Family Visitation Monitor, you will help strengthen and preserve child and parent relationships when parents separate. You can also help foster children reconnect with their bio parents! Due to growth and demand, we are looking for at least 3 people who may serve children and parents in Hillsborough! Become part of a leading visitation services agency in Florida serving families since 2010. This is a part time, independent contractor position for those wanting to make a difference on an as needed position! Let us help you deliver supportive visitation and therapeutic interventions! All team members are independent contractors and therefore have complete control over their time and schedule.

BACKGROUND PREFERRED

The Toby Family Visitation Monitor is a specialized, part time position to help improve parent and child relationships by supervising parenting visitation, usually approved by court order. This position prefers mature individuals who can multi task, are responsible, can function independently and yet become important team player members. Have you worked with Children? Families? Are you a teacher? Case Worker? Have related experience in social work or group facilitation? Therapists and Interns are also needed! Ideally, you will have a background in working with children and parents in any capacity such as educators and teaching assistants, case workers and staff managers. We seek those who may be presently working with children, and have a desire to help parents become more effective. Therapists and registered interns are also needed who wish to expand their practice! Students seeking experience may also qualify! The Toby Center welcomes these experienced individuals who may speak both English and Spanish! The Toby Center has served families in Florida since 2010. We are respected service organization and seek individuals with impeccable backgrounds sincerely seeking to make a difference in a child’s life that will last generations! Therapists will be trained to provide therapeutic supervised visitation services.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS NEEDED

This position requires individuals who are: 1. Organized and a Team Player 2. Professional demeaner and Self Reliant 3. Have excellent writing and speaking skills. 4. Have cell phone and computer access. 5. Have computer skills, MS Word and Excel. Must be comfortable talking with other professionals and willing to learn how to work with parents in conflict, family attorneys and case managers.

WHAT IS SUPERVISED VISITATION

Supervised visitation is a court ordered service normally requested by client families for weekend and evening appointments. Two-hour visitation sessions are most often requested for Saturdays, with weekday afternoons and evenings sometimes scheduled. Nearly all Toby Center client families are court ordered to have scheduled parenting time (visitation) for various reasons including domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, or otherwise having been blocked from accessing their children. Some families have DCF involvement. Each staff member is an independent contractor and can work as many cases as they may have time for.

GOALS FOR A FAMILY VISITATION MONITOR

Toby Center goals include helping more parents have appropriate and consistent quality time with their children through court ordered visitation. We seek those who may be presently working with children, and have a desire to help parents become more effective in developing a nurturing and loving relationship with their children. The Toby Center program is unique in that we specialize in attempting to normalize parent and child visitations in the community, at parks, restaurants, museums, all options based on children’s intellectual and physical capacity.

TRAINING AND ORIENTATION

Upon completion of 12 hours of orientation and field experience, you will be assigned a client family, to be managed and coordinated by the yourself as Family Monitor. Experienced and inexperienced monitors will be offered the skills to be Family Monitors, and to understand the unique pressures, fears, and concerns which many parents and also children face when in the court system. This position requires a high level of communication ability with very strong verbal and writing skills, and sensitivity to families in crisis. This position may require court appearances and therefore all our staff must meet stringent background checks.

CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS

All Family Monitors are independent contractors who offer their skills and time to improve child outcomes though court ordered visitation. experiencing working with

Children and Families:

3 years (Required) criminal free and clean driving record: 10 years (Required) computer/word processing/scanning: 3 years (Required)

Education:

Associate (Required) Licenses or certifications: Drivers License (Required) Current mental health license if clinician (Required)

Language:

English; bi-lingual preferred Excellent speaking and writing skills required.

CONTRACTOR COMPENSATION AND OPPORTUNITIES

Modest hourly training compensation. Compensation begins with case assignments following successful training completion.

Starting Compensation:

$15.00 – $25 /hour for non clinical contractors! $45/hour for registered interns; $65 for fully licensed therapists. c We welcome your interest!
