A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians Implement and deliver weekly lessons for children’s programs based on the curriculum developed by the director Work under the direction of the director of next generation ministry to coordinate and develop children’s programs Ensure volunteers are prepared and supported in delivering programs Be available to address parents’ questions, concerns, and suggestions Instruct and guide children to understand and apply the Bible in their lives Support children’s Christian spiritual and social development Adhere to PCPC policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and Child Protection Policy Promote, implement, and participate in the following children’s programs: Children’s Sunday school (ages 2 years – 5th grade) Prepare and deliver weekly lessons aligned with the church’s faith-based curriculum Collaborate with volunteers to implement small group activities that reinforce the lesson and foster meaningful connections Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children Children’s involvement in worship services Work with the worship team to integrate children’s participation through music, scripture reading, and other elements Encourage active worship engagement by providing age-appropriate opportunities Seasonal events (VBS, Easter, Blessing of the Backpacks, church-wide festivals, etc.) Support the director by implementing and leading children’s participation in seasonal events, including VBS Communicate with families to encourage participation and build excitement Outreach initiatives (Kidz Klub, First Priority, Game Day, etc.) Collaborate with the director to support outreach initiatives for children’s programs, ensuring spiritual growth and community involvement Build relationships with children and families to foster a welcoming environment Provide guidance and materials for volunteers supporting these programs The children’s ministry specialist reports to the director of next generation ministry.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high School diploma; AA degree preferred A committed Christian with a deep understanding of and alignment with PCPC’s mission and values Two years of experience working with children in a ministry, educational, or similar setting; five years preferred Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and events Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a heart for building relationships with children, families, and volunteers Ability to work collaboratively with PCPC staff, volunteers, and parents Flexibility and creativity in implementing and developing age-appropriate lessons and activities Must pass a background check and comply with PCPC’s Child Protection Policy and Employee Handbook Availability to work weekends, evenings, and during key seasonal events
