Our Physicians are board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. We are affiliated with the finest hospitals throughout Central Florida, and we are on call 24-hours a day to handle emergencies. General Purpose Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a complex disease requiring comprehensive care. CF Social Workers have historically served as core members of the healthcare team assisting with management regarding aspects of patient care, the CF team and center-wide practices through the ability to coordinate, facilitate the communication and ensure teamwork. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Cooperate with other professionals to evaluate patients’ medical or physical condition and to assess client needs. Advocate for clients or patients to resolve crises. Collaborate with other professionals to assess client needs or plan treatments. Investigate abuse or neglect cases and take authorized protective action when necessary. Interview clients to gather information about their backgrounds, needs, or progress. Intervene in crisis situations to assist clients. Refer clients to community or social service programs. Refer individuals to educational or work programs. Education and Experience Master’s in social work required Clinical Social Worker licensure required. Knowledge of medical terminology Understanding the roles of the healthcare team Exceptional interpersonal skills Deep understanding the psychosocial aspects of illness and health Experience of community facilities and resources for discharge planning Superb written and verbal communication skills Strong crisis intervention skills Excellent short-term counseling skills Knowledge and Training Knowledge of medical terminology required Knowledge of pulmonary medicine preferred Core Competencies Possess leadership and organization skills with the ability to communicate The ability to problem-solve Must be detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills. Strong sense of responsibility and initiative Above average computer skills.
