Lower School ESE Coordinator Donna Klein Jewish Academy Boca Raton, FL 33428 Donna Klein Jewish Academy, an independent non-profit school for children grades Kindergarten through grade 12, is a Jewish community day school serving families from a broad spectrum of Jewish backgrounds and religious practices. The school was founded in 1979 and lives its mission: To educate our children and the greater DKJA community to be knowledgeable and responsible citizens of the world, committed to Jewish values and lifelong learning. The Lower School ESE Coordinator partners with the Principal, Lower School leadership team, Learning specialists and faculty. The Coordinator will be responsible for designing programming for students in Kindergarten-4th grade, as well as supporting and collaborating with teachers to provide services in their classes. The Coordinator maintains Individual Student Plans (ISP) documents and plans, coordinates, conducts and/or facilitates ISP Team meetings, ISP annual reviews and 3-year evaluations for a caseload of students identified with learning differences. The Coordinator assists in acting as the liaison between the School, parents and families, as well as other professionals in the community. This is a full-time 10-month faculty position. Leadership -Lead efforts in developing and maintaining a robust system for monitoring student data in reading and math. (Communicate MAP Data with families per request- internal)
- Have a seat on the Lower School Leadership Team
- Log and Manage Data from MAP, Moby Max, and RTI Data.(Internal) School Community & Communication
- Update ISP template, and referral forms with input from multiple stakeholders including learning specialists, classroom teachers, and parents where appropriate. (Internal)
- Write individual student support plans in conjunction with the school psychologist-
- Hold annual meetings with parent(s) for all students with ISPs at the start of the school year including what goals they have for the school year.
- Oversee a formalized system for communicating with parents about re-evaluations of their children in the lower school
- Store and maintain confidential ESE files for grade K-4.
Curriculum & Collaboration ESE Coordinators will assist learning specialists in maintaining detailed records of student goals and progress within targeted intervention programs. The ESE Coordinators will collaborate with classroom teachers to support their development of classroom-based systems for tracking student data in reading and math using curriculum-based measures Additional Expectations
- Coordinate proctoring schedules for students per ISP alternate setting needs
- Liaison with providers for students undergoing testing or receiving Speech and OT services.
- The Coordinator assists students, parents, and instructional staff in implementing ISP accommodations
- Create the service schedule for students receiving academic coaching with Lower School Principal
- Lead Monthly grade-level ISP meetings Qualifications Masters in ESE 3-5 years of experience Preferred training in OG, PAF, Wilson learning system, Multi-sensory math
