Job Summary:
This is a management position responsible for the oversight of prevention and diversion support services for families, prevention education/awareness, identification of the least restrictive services, resources and supports with a goal of family preservation.
Essential Functions:
Establishes and maintains positive working relationship with HFC internal/external customers Manages and provides supervision to Family Support Specialists that are responsible for identifying resources and problem solving with families to prevent children from entering the child welfare system Ensures families access the necessary resources timely, services and programs effectively, with the focus on optimizing their experience and outcomes Oversee the development, implementation and delivery of resource navigation systems and support services to divert cases from further entering the local child welfare system in Circuit 10 Coordinates, creates, provides and delivers community and staff presentations on prevention related topics and service delivery Focuses on providing families with help before harm, by removing barriers and identifying the most appropriate services and supports Provides daily supervision of staff and case consultations on specific case situations to ensure family preservation Reviews, compiles and tracks data related to children entering the system of care and helps to develop strategies to safely prevent entering the child welfare system Reviews risk levels for families and determines interventions needed to support families Ensure staff are documenting all efforts in FSFN and keeping all staff and teams updates on case progress Models and enforces effective conflict resolution by encouraging open and free flowing communication between staff and service providers Responds with a sense of urgency to identify family service needs and resources Attends meetings and supervise/coordinate activities related to prevention and diversion case oversight Participate in management meetings and management team projects Performs special projects as assigned
Qualifications Required:
: Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Health Care, Business or related field required. Requires a minimum of three to five years of professional experience in the related field & supervisory experience.
Qualifications Preferred:
Master’s degree preferred. Extensive experience in child welfare and/or child abuse prevention preferred.
