The(DHS), the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders, enforcing and modifying support obligations, collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs, including but not limited to Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court. These outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing non-custodial parental involvement in the child’s life. DCSS is seeking candidates for the position of Child Support Services Agent Supervisor. This position is based at the DCSS office in Decatur, DeKalb County, GA.

Job Description
Pay Grade:
I
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Supervises a unit to establish and enforce child support obligations of responsible parents. Coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial, and publicanizations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Manages casework functions within the Child Support Services office or unit.
Interprets and applies state, federal and agency laws, rules, policies and procedures and assists staff with sensitive andplex cases.
Provides human resources management direction to assigned staff.
Performs administrative assignments as required for the efficient operation of unit.
Coordinates and participates in local and statewide projects, as requested.
Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by manager, director or leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED AND five (5) years of direct job-related experience which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; OR
Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Support Svcs Agent 3 (SST062); OR
One (1) year of experience at the lower level Child Support Svcs Agent 4 (SST063) or position equivalent.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:
Bachelor’s degree or above in a related field from an approved, accredited college or university AND Three (3) years of child support/enforcement case management work experience.
Associate’s degree in a related field from an approved, accredited college or university AND Four (4) years of child support/enforcement case management work experience of which Two (2) were at the level of DCSS Agent 2 (orparable position) based on the State of Gia Position Clarification Structure.
