SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the principal

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PROGRAM COORDINATION AND COLLABORATION

(Includes Building Parent and School Capacity) 1. Communicates with teachers, administrators, and faculty members to ensure that family engagement strategies are integrated across school programs, policies, and initiatives. 2. Assists with the implementation and oversight of parent volunteer programs. 3. Offers opportunities to help parents understand the school’s academic standards, assessments, and student progress by collaborating with teachers and administration. 4. Coordinates home technology assistance (HHB) as needed. 5. Reaches out to other school personnel, such as school counselors and social workers, to collaborate on parent outreach efforts and academic events, including home visits when necessary. 6. Involves parents in opportunities to learn about their child’s education and become part of decision-making processes, including school improvement and family engagement, by encouraging parents to participate in applicable school and district meetings. 7. Collaborates with administrators, teachers, and wraparound staff to determine the best intervention support for students. 8. Visits various community agency locations to communicate school and district initiatives . 9. Supports the school with attendance intervention processes. 10. Translates academic and mental and behavioral health supports available. 11. Serves as liaison between parent, teacher, and counselor when coordinating parent conferences. 12. Serves as a liaison with special program opportunities (Migrant, McKinney Vento). 13. Provides professional learning to staff on how to communicate and work effectively with parents.

COMMUNICATIONS AND TRAINING 1.

Assists administration and leaders with planning and implementing parent engagement activities such as workshops/awareness events during the school day and after school. 2. Creates informational materials about educational resources and opportunities for parents, including translating documents and interpreting during parent meetings. 3. Coordinates with community members to seek out additional resources for parent events. 4. Maintains updated comprehensive parent resource materials and utilizes various methods of communication (flyers, email, social media, school messenger, and invitations) to ensure multiple processes of notification and successful delivery of information from the school. 5. Maintains confidentiality of student and family information. 6. Assists parents/guardians with Infinite Campus portal sign-up.

TITLE I, PART A COMPLIANCE 1.

Maintains excellent records and documentation of all Title I Parent & Family Engagement activities, events, and communications throughout the year. 2. Assists with organizing surveys, Parent and Family Engagement expenditures, correspondence to parents, agendas and minutes by keeping copies in a preferred filing method as advised by the district. 3. Completes a self-analysis of Parent & Family Engagement at least twice a year to ensure that policies, compacts, procedures, and documentation are in compliance with Title I, Part A Section 1118 of ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED Effective Oral & Written Communication Skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Routine physical activities associated with a typical office setting. Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, and repetitive fine motor activities. Vision, hearing, and verbal communications are essential functions of this position.
