Domestic Violence Resident Advocate Halcyon Home for Battered Women, Inc. We strive to raise community awareness and promote education to prevent and break the cycle of violence. Domestic Violence Resident Advocate Duties:
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services to survivors of domestic violence
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the needs and safety risks of survivors
  • Develop safety plans and provide referrals to appropriate resources
  • Assist survivors in accessing emergency shelter, legal services, and medical care
  • Advocate for survivors within the criminal justice system and other community agencies
  • Facilitate support groups
  • Provide emotional support to survivors
  • Assist with the filing of protective orders and other legal documents
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client files
  • Complete data entry and data collection in a timely manner
  • Assist and participate in public relations and community education activities
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or similar populations
  • Knowledge of local resources and services for survivors of domestic violence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
