Domestic Violence Resident Advocate Halcyon Home for Battered Women, Inc. Domestic Violence Resident Advocate Duties:
- Provide crisis intervention and support services to survivors of domestic violence
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the needs and safety risks of survivors
- Develop safety plans and provide referrals to appropriate resources
- Assist survivors in accessing emergency shelter, legal services, and medical care
- Advocate for survivors within the criminal justice system and other community agencies
- Facilitate support groups
- Provide emotional support to survivors
- Assist with the filing of protective orders and other legal documents
- Maintain accurate and confidential client files
- Complete data entry and data collection in a timely manner
- Assist and participate in public relations and community education activities
Qualifications:
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or similar populations
- Knowledge of local resources and services for survivors of domestic violence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Must have a valid driver’s license
