As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for campers. You will be responsible for guiding activities, fostering personal growth, and ensuring the well-being of each child in your care. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting positive experiences. Duties Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment. Check group attendance each morning and report absences to Program Manager. Provide support in areas such as tutoring, behavior management, and special education as needed. Foster a positive environment that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and respect among campers. Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to address any concerns or needs. Implement first aid procedures when necessary and maintain a safe environment at all times. Assist in the development of camper skills related to childhood development and early childhood education. .Report to the Program Manager any difficult or unusual situations. Requirements Must be 21 years or older Experience working with children in settings such as childcare or educational environments. Familiarity with behavior management techniques to support diverse needs among campers. Be able to participate effectively with other staff in planning and implementing creative and fun camp activities. Certification in First Aid is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. A genuine passion for educating and mentoring children while promoting their well-being. Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Pass a criminal background check Physical Requirements Ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel. Ability to lift and carry equipment to appropriate destinations or affect the carrying of such equipment. Ability to use senses which enable safe supervision including seeing and/or hearing.
